Banded Mongoose (Mungos mungo)

Banded mongooses are 12 to 16 inches long with an eight-inch tail and weigh 3.5 to 5 pounds. They have coarse brownish gray fur with dark bands across the back.
Manatee Rescue 9-16-2011

The manatee was rescued from Booker Creek in St. Petersburg by the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission's Fish and Wildlife Research Institute (FWRI) on Sept. 16, 2011. She was severely emaciated at only 230 pounds.
